Library Programs

Our Friends group plays an essential role in supporting these efforts. We work diligently to inform the community about the wealth of opportunities and services available at the library, ensuring that more residents can take advantage of these valuable resources. Through outreach and advocacy, we shine a spotlight on the library’s contributions to literacy, culture, and lifelong learning.

In addition, our Friends group actively networks with local businesses and organizations to build partnerships that amplify the library’s impact. By fostering these connections, we help create collaborative opportunities that enhance programming and expand the library’s reach.

Beyond advocacy and networking, we also provide financial support for some of the library’s outstanding programs. Through our fundraising efforts, we enable the library to continue offering high-quality initiatives that address the needs and interests of our diverse community. Together, we ensure the library remains a thriving hub of education, inspiration, and community engagement.

Here are activities we held or participated in to advocate for our Library:

• Letter writing to our local legislators to advocate for support
• Participation in Water Safety Day at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center where we distribute information about our Library and free 
• Participation in Tasty Tuesday to inform public about our Library and the FOL work
• Celebrate National Friends of the Library Week, National Library Workers Day, and National Library Week by distributing marketing items, posting information and holding membership drives.
